Hi,

I would like to know what your feelings are on how you might work to help improve the Dublin 8 area for children? Also I have just a few questions regarding education in our area...

1. 92% of schools in Ireland are Catholic-run. Yet the huge waiting list for the only multi-denominational school in this area (Portobello Educate Together) shows that local parents want choice. What can you do for us?

2. What is your party’s position on the transition of an existing Catholic school to a multi-denominational school in this area? What will you do to make it happen?

3. What will you do to publicly show your support for the Portobello Educate Together school start up group?

Best of luck with your campaign.

Thank you,

Sue

I run a small art gallery in the middle of Francis Street. I also live in this constituency.

Using the Dublin tourism website as a guide I found that over one million tourists go to the guinness hopstore each year and another million to St Patricks Cathedral passing by both ends of Francis Street however there is not one sign to guide any of these tourists into "The Dublin Arts and Antiques Quarter". Irish people do not even know that we exist. We, the business owners on Francis Street, have written to Dublin City council looking for better signage, but to no avail.

I have written to all the councillors for the area and also to your good self asking for assistance but have not received much in the way of an answer.

My question is "what will Fine gael do for the business owners on Francis street if you are elected

Hi Catherine,

I hope this finds you well.

My question is this... This country is CRYING out for schools both primary and secondary. The dublin south central area in particular is appalling low on both. Labour Member Ivana Bacik has tried to get a new Multi D school set up in Portobello, but couldn´t as she was told there was no money and that she would have to get a exisiting school to change to a Multi - D. Are Fine Geal going to address this apppalling situation in the very near future???

We also need Educate together Secondary schools, the only co ed schools in this entire area are High School and Standford, and they are both fee paying schools. I don´t want to have to send my daughter to a all girl catholic school when we are not catholics and she is currently in a Multi D. I am also a single mother so a fee paying school is out of the question for me.

I hope these issues are addressed.

Regards,
